Celebrate World Oceans Day and Plastic Free July 2019

The North Cottesloe beach clean-up event has been rescheduled from 10am - 12pm on 29 July 2019 to celebrate Plastic Free July as well as World Oceans Day.

Choose to refuse single-use plastic

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all.

Graphic with no words

Come along and join us to enjoy and care for this wonderful stretch of Western Australian coastline as we recognise North Cottesloe SLSC’s #take3forthesea initiative, the Town of Cottesloe’s recent smoking ban along the Cottesloe foreshore, World Oceans Day and Plastic Free July.

Litter bags and buckets, tongs and gloves will be provided to all participants. Insurance cover is also available on the day for registrants. A litter audit of what we collect on the day will be conducted and the data submitted to the Australian Marine Debris Database.

Registration will be from 10am at the North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club and join us after the clean-up in the clubrooms for some some morning tea and a coffee. Don't forget to bring your keep cup!

If you have any questions about the event, please contact adoptaspot@kabc.wa.gov.au.
