The Keep Australia Beautiful Council Western Australia plays a leading role in the campaign against litter in our State. Through education, enforcement and incentives, Keep Australia Beautiful encourages us to preserve our environment for now and future generations.
Programs including Adopt-a-Spot, Clean Clubs, Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities and Community Litter Grants enable community members to participate in and be recognised for their efforts in managing local environmental issues. Working with these local communities, local governments and agencies such as Main Roads Western Australia ensures Keep Australia Beautiful is having a positive impact.
I am encouraged by the results to date, including: increased numbers of Litter Reporters, more volunteer community members keeping their favourite spots clean and a drop in the number of littered items.
As a passionate advocate for the conservation of our natural environment, and our parks and nature and conservation reserves especially, it gives me great delight to be Patron of the Keep Australia Beautiful Council. I encourage all West Australians to support Keep Australia Beautiful and take an active role in keeping Western Australia litter-free.
Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC
Governor of Western Australia
